A glimmering Alt-Folk pearl that is something of a missing link between Iron & Wine and José González in their finest anthem form. A Choir of Ghosts is like a well directed drama with its wuthering heights and crushing lows and an equally elegant interplay between falsetto and tenor.

James Auger and his A Choir of Ghosts give a comforting and necessary breathing room in a time filled with pushy job adverts, our wasting of resources and a society that is too cold and harsh for anyone to feel welcome. He grew up in the small fishing town of Whitby on the North East coast of England, but a few years ago he found home. In the forests of North West Ångermanland, Sweden. Now he can be there, hand in hand with the forest that he himself has canonized. There the four elements – earth, air, fire and water – get room to play, through existence, soul and artistry. That room to play though is full of friction and resistance, and is threatened by a man-made apocalypse. A nightmare ending to the world we inherited.

But hope has never left A Choir of Ghosts. Never. Ever. That hope is the key to a better world with a wonderful ability to understand people.
