Der Singer-Songwriter Gab De La Vega aus Brescia/Italien kommt mit kompletter Band “The Open Cages” für drei Konzerte nach Deutschland. Singer-Songwriter meets Indie-Rock. Wir sind gespannt und freuen uns auf den Auftakt nach der Sommerpause:

A singer-songwriter with a hardcore punk background

Gab De La Vega describes himself as a „singer-songwriter with a hardcore and punk background, born in Brescia, but citizen of the World.“

After years of playing hardcore and punk, in 2011 Gab gives life to this solo project, leaving heavier sounds aside for a moment and slinging an acoustic guitar, exploring himself as a singer-songwriter.
Melodies and emotions find a way to express themselves at their best, in sounds that always combine a personal touch with tradition, influenced by disparate sources, such as indie rock, punk and folk.

Stories of real lives, emotions, theories, criticism and political practices, feelings, glimpses of daily life and personal thoughts converge through music; it is the soundtrack of his journey.
Gab’s punk roots combined with his strong Do It Yourself ethic allowed him to create his own path in music; he started his own label Epidemic Records when he was in his early twenties and began organizing shows and tours himself, creating a strong network of friends and supporters everywhere.
Over the years he has toured Europe extensively, with shows in Italy, Germany, the UK, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, Poland, and many more. He managed to tour the United States East Coast once and Canada (Ontario and Quebec) twice. He also took his music to South America, with a tour between Chile and Argentina. Over the years he has played on small stages and big stages, always with the same passion and had the opportunity to play with artists and bands such as Frank Turner, Against Me!, Laura Jane Grace, Chuck Ragan, Joey Cape, Kevin Seconds (7 Seconds), Austin Lucas, Ceremony, H2O and many others.
In 2019, he played his first full band show as Gab De La Vega and The Open Cages opening for Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls at Radio Onda d’Urto Festival.
In December 2019, the single „Perfect Texture“ (a track featuring multi-instrumentalist Nicola Manzan), followed by the second single „YYZ“ in January announced the release of the new record, „Beyond Space And Time,“ the first album with a full band arrangement, out Jan. 24, 2020.
Of course, Covid19 stopped all live activities after only 6 full band release shows.
Live concerts, in solo format, resumed in July 2020, with a series of acoustic shows between Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic, ringing up about 15 dates between mid-July and early October. In the subsequent period of forced stop Gab De La Vega kept the focus on the music and its protagonists, musicians like himself, who were unable to perform live, by offering a series of interviews and informal chats live on his social media, with guests of various levels, both Italian and international. Acoustic shows resumed in the spring of 2021 throughout the summer, and after seventeen months, appearances in full band format also returned.
In Fall 2021, in addition to a solo trip to Austria, Gab De La Vega released his new acoustic single „We Could Be Anything.“

In February 2022, the single „Demons of Tomorrow“ was released, and in May he embarked on a solo acoustic tour with stops in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.
He was reconfirmed full band in the line up of Lost Evenings, the festival organized by British musician Frank Turner, who personally invited him to the Berlin date at Columbia Dreieck, scheduled for September 2022.

In 2022 he is recording his fourth album and has performed full band in support of Laura Jane Grace, singer and guitarist of the American band Against Me!, on her tour across Europe.
Between June 24 and July 15, Gab De La Vega left on in his third solo tour in Canada, with 22 live appearances between Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, including a show on the historic and prestigious stage of Toronto’s legendary Horseshoe Tavern, a key venue in the Canadian music scene.
